problems getting in advanced boot options

I have a windows server 2012 standard in virtualbox on a windows 7 host.
I want to get in advanced boot options menu by hitting Shift+F8 at startup but it does not succeed.The server continues startup process.
I type at the beginning of the startup process and continue repeating typing.

I don't know if Microsoft changed anything with 2012, but the usual key for that menu, up to Windows 7, has been just F8 by itself, no shift. And if you're trying this on a laptop or other restricted keyboard with the combined F# keys you may need to hold down the Fn key or whatever you keyboard calls it, to really get F8 and not the pre-programmed movie site....

I've found an other way to get in advanced boot options.
As my server didn't startup anymore I get to the troubleshoot button and this way I could access advanced boot options
