windows vista guest additions does not respond

My host is win 8.1 . Im creating a win vista vm. After I start win vista and login I am choosing guest additions in devices but nothing happens. Its like guest editions never runs! I done all updates. I am running win vista in another vm on virtual box but guest additions work fine. I can have more than one vm with the same os?

Perhaps autorun is disabled. When you load the guest additions cd, open it in the guest and start the setup.

OK guest additions ran successfully I chose guest additions from devices It did not do anything then I clicked on programs icon and I was prompted to run guest additions.

It did do something - it attached the Guest Additions CD to your VM, which is what it's supposed to do.
