More than 2GB base memory & Windws updates???

Hey Folks,

I just installed VirtualBox 1.6 on my 64-bit AMD machine (4 CPU, > 8GB RAM).
The host is Fedora 8 64-bit version. The virtual machine is loaded with 32-bit
Windows XP w/ service pack 3.

I have 2 questions:
1. Is there any way to increase the base memory above 2GB?
2. Is it necessary to install the Windows updates for the virtual machine?

Thanks,
Tripp

1) No
2) That's certainly up to you, but running a server without the latest security patches seems like a silly idea to me...

JW,

Thank you. I agree with you about the security patches.

If I may, I'd like to probe a little further...

Is it possible for malicious users to attack the host (through the guest)? Even if I can't access the host's files from the guest OS?

Thanks Again.
