Dear friends,

I had to resize Win XP virtual HD size (via Terminal) but now Win XP doesn't see the new size. Could anyone help me on this?

Some more details are needed.

When you open up Windows disk management does the extra disk size show up there? If so then you succeeded in increasing the VM's "physical" disk size, but Windows own partition on the drive is unaware of it. If this is the case you need to use a utility to resize the partition to fill up the new disk size.

GParted a Linux OS that you must boot to via an ISO(free), Parted Magic a Linux OS that you boot ot ($10), AOEMI Partition Assistant - an app that you install in Windows (free and also an extra function fill version for $$$) are a few.

Actually, more details are not needed. The question is a FAQ and the linked response should cover it all, if it is read carefully.

I am very aware of the fact that step 2 mentions the need of the use of a partition manager, that's not what I meant. What I meant was that the FAQ should mention AOEMI, with which dealing with partitions is FAR MORE EASIER than the way the FAQ proposes.

Many guest OS's have partition managers built in and don't require the user to go buy something else. Gparted is an excellent and free solution for most everyone else - it supports almost all guests and all guest filesystems.
