Hi Guys

I have been struggling with this for the past few days. I have tried everything but can't seem to be able to fix this issue. I have added as much info as possible below.

Issue- the guest os cannot connect to internet.
Network adapter - virtualbox host only network (status - No network access)
Identification Unidentified network (public network)

Software version- 4.3.18 r96516
Guest addin updated - yes
Host OS - Windows 8.1 Pro (64 bit)
Guest OS - Windows Server 2012
Network configurations:
Adapter 1
Connected to - NAT
Adapter type - Intel Pro/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM)
Promiscuous Mode: Allow all
Cable connect - true

Can anybody help with this. I am currently stuck and would really appreciate any help I can get.

You say NAT but your information says host-only.
Host-only does not have Internet capabilities, nor a gateway.

I am sure u must have realised of naive I am. I'll add a couple fo screenshots to explain what I mean.

Let me know if I am missing something as all i want to do is to be able to browse internet from guest os

I am confused as well. I assume that the network config you posted is from the host (and looks fine). What is the network config of the guest? What is its IP address and gateway?

found the issue.

some how it was configured to use proxy settings.....

IE -> Settings (Internet Options) -> Connections -> Lan settings -> uncheck use proxy server
