Hi,

I use VirtualBox 4.3.18 r96516, my host OS is 64-bit Windows 8.1, my hardware configuration is as following:
HP ZBook 15 with Intel Core i7-4800MQ CPU @2.7GHz, and 16G installed memory.

I switched on the VTx in BIOS, and I installed Intel Processor Identification Utility, it tells me all the virtualization Technology is enabled.

But when I try to start my VM, there is always the following error reported:

Code: Select all

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine boot2docker-vm.

VT-x is disabled in the BIOS. (VERR_VMX_MSR_VMXON_DISABLED).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}
I almost tried everything that I can do, but still cannot find out a solution to this problem.
Anyone can help me on this?

Thanks a lot!

This usually means that something else has taken control of VMX. Like hyper-v or some debuggers and virus software. It also happens if you are running nested virtualization.
