hi everyone

i'm using a HP desktop (ENVY20), with OS Windows 8 64 bit operating system, x64 based processor (see attachments)

i've downloaded VirtualBox 4.3.18 for Windows host

i've installed the program, and attempted to setup a VM type Microsoft Windows, version Windows 7 64 bit

however, I do not have the option to choose that (see attachments)

i only have the option to choose Windows 7 32 bit

i suppose if i've a OS running on 64 bit, i should be able to create a VM for 64 bit as well, but this isn't the case....

does anyone have any idea to resolve this?

I had this, I had to downgrade to 4.3.16, thats the one that I use, and its the only one I can create 64bit machines on

Red herring alert: I think we might have heard many more people mention it if they really couldn't run 64bit VMs with 4.3.18. Read the link I provided.
