Mac OS X - with a Windows XP guest OS

Post by drewsk »

Hi;

I have a good install of the latest Virtualbox (I think 4.3.18) - installed yesterday. In there I have installed Win XP. My problem is that XP says that media is disconnected. I have everything set to defaults - have tried e1000 (no go).

System is an older MacBook with a core 2 duo. O/S is 10.9.5

Trying to install XP (fully licensed) with office 2003 (also licensed).

I have tried everything I can think of - have to get passed this "media disconnected" issue with networking. Everything else looks fine. This is for a friend of mine working in a seniors home that has this older software. Any suggestions on making this work would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Drew.

The default network settings for an XP guest, are NAT and under Advanced, PCnet-FAST III. You shouldn't have to change any network settings in the XP guest. So if the Mac is connected, the XP guest should be as well.
