Hello
I just discover VirtualBox and created a Windows XP guest.
I would like now to transfer files from my Mac to the guest (windows XP)
I tried drag'n Drop (i made it available in "Devices") but it doesn't work.
I tried to used the shared folders and read some other topics about it but i couldn't understand everything (i'm not a native english speaker).

Does anyone could explain me how easily transfer a file or a folder containing files from host to guest?

My Mac: MacBook Pro 10.9.4

For now, Drag n Drop only works with Linux guests.

First you need to install the guest additions in your XP guest in safe mode.

To create a shared folder…
Open VirtualBox
Click on Shared folders... a dialog will open
Click on the Add Folder (Green Plus Icon)... a new dialog will open
in the Folder Path drop down menu choose "Other..." A dialog window will open so you can choose which folder on your Mac you want to share. Click choose.
Check Auto-mount Click OK

The next time you start your XP guest the shared folder will be in the side pane of Windows Explorer. Then any file you put in that folder will be shared.

I installed the guest additions but i'm not sure it was on safe mode. . .

So when i chose which folder on my Mac i wanted to share, this was the pop up window with the folder i wanted to choose and three possibilities to cross under it:
Translated in english (Hope it might help):
O Lecture alone
O Automatic Montage
O Permanent configuration

I didn't choose any of the possibilities, is that a mistake? if yes, which one should i cross?

How do i check Auto Mount please?

Put them on a flash drive & transfer them like that?
