USB EHCI don't work in WindowsXP

Post by marcos.francisco »

I'm using WindowsXP as a guest to Ubuntu 8.04 and VirtualBox 1.6. I have enabled the usb as required.

The problem is that when I enable USB EHCI on VirtualBOX windows detects the hardware but can't find a suitable driver. Of course the USB devices don't work after it.

Anybody had the same problem? Is there a better driver to use?

I have exactly the same problem: I have enabled usb as per the FAQ and my devices are listed under the little usb icon and are black and can be enabled... however, this does nothing because when usb was enabled per the FAQ, win XP went to install the hardware and hung on installing the USB root hub"

Do you have an Intel Root hub? That is the one I have on my Asus EEE pc and seems to be where the issue is. I have this working correctly on my desktop and my Acer laptop.

There was a problem installing this hardware:
An error occurred during the installation of the device.
The data is invalid.

It seems that the driver data is not the correct one.
