Guru Meditation in Virtual Box 4.3.18 r96516

Post by MaIz »

Hi all.

I installed Windows 2008 R2 - 32Bits and I made several updates to these Windows, reboot and everything is working well, and at some unspecified time skip the window with "GURU MEDITATION". and I have to close the virtual machine.

Deputy compressed log file.

Maybe someone can give me a hint.

Thanks and regards.

Mario

Code: Select all

00:00:02.401201 HMR3Init: Falling back to raw-mode: VT-x is disabled in the BIOS
Enabling hardware virtualization in your host BIOS should fix this.

Hi PerryG.

Thanks for answer, I did not know they had to be enabled those options in the BIOS, if I want to run Windows 2008 32bit.

:(

Everything is moving that way. You can enable it and see if it fixes your issue or not. My bet it will.

You have VT-x disabled in the BIOS and most probably this is the same behavior as described in Bug #12254. I highlighted the 'acpiPMTmrRead' because that's a key finding according to the discussion in the bug report. But as Perry said, enabling VT-x should a) fix it and b) it's the appropriate thing to have for 2008.
