Occasional Guru Meditation with CentOS Drupal VM

Post by Mark Hetherington »

Hi,

I'm having occasional (at least 3, with no clear pattern) "Guru Meditation" notices while running a CentOS VM. It suggests going to the community section on virtualbox dot org, so here I am!

It also suggests providing the contents of the VBox.log, and VBox.png. The PNG is just a black screen (VM console screen saver - only access is generally via web server). The end of the log notes:

Code: Select all

08:05:07.574451 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
08:05:07.574520 emR3Debug: rc=VERR_SVM_IN_USE
08:05:08.574443 Changing the VM state from 'RUNNING' to 'GURU_MEDITATION'.
The rest of the log is just what I've had in the terminal screen buffer, and system startup logging. It doesn't seem like this information would be that useful for debugging? Is there something I can do to get more useful debug information?

Please attach the full VBox.log when this error happens for the VM.

Also, are you running any other hypervisor software or funny anti-virus/security software on your host alongside VirtualBox?
