Have read so many articles on time issues with Virtualbox and Guest OS's which are PDC that Im now totally lost
My setup:
* Win7 Host OS
* Win 2008 R2 as Guest (PDC) with Guest Additions
All is working absolutely except for time synch. Whenever the Host needs to be restarted, it starts up (time is good), and as soon as the Guest OS Starts, the Guest is set to GMT time. Then, as the PDC sets the time for the network, all domain machines then get set to GMT (which for us in NZ is 13 hrs behind) ... including the Virtualbox host. All windows machines are set to the correct time zone etc.
Eventlogs show this happening, ie the Host starts with the correct time, and then is shifted as a result of the PDC..
This only happens when the Host OS is restarted. If I just re-start the Guest OS (Win2k8) it doesnt shift.
I did have an issue with time drift on the PDC, so I just run w32tm /resync every 5 mins and it holds the domain time for the whole network. The PC gets its time from pool_ntp_org but if course when its time offset is so large (13 hrs) it complains.
From memory Ive got time sync disabled between guest and host but would appreciate any guidance / ideas from those with a similar setup and how you manage to keep your time accurate.
Cheers
