Win 2012 R2 / 8.1 Install Crash

Post by Scribble »

Host: Win 7 x64 / i7-2600K / 16GB RAM / nVidia GeForce GTX 580 / Asrock Z68 Professional Gen3 Fatal1ty (Intel Virtualization Technology Enabled) / VirtualBox 4.3.18

Guests: Win 2012 R2 64bit ISO / Win 8.1 64bit ISO

Log files and PNG's attached for each instance below.

I have no problem running Win 7 64bit or pfSense or any other virtual box. All OS ISO's used were downloaded within the last 24 hours from Microsoft's website. The host machine is fully updated (Microsoft Updates / Software Updates / Drivers).

I even did the whole:

Code: Select all

"c:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe" setextradata "XXXXXXXXXX" VBoxInternal/CPUM/CMPXCHG16B 1
Although I understand this was fixed in the most updated release, and is no longer necessary.

Any suggestions from the community would be most welcomed.

Enable PAE/NX under VM Settings, System, Processor and see what happens.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

DEP!

Enabled it across all applications and this seemed to work.

Thank you for your time Socratis.
