Windows Install Driver Installation...

Post by Joe7894 »

Hi all,

I'm running Virtualbox 4.3.18 on a Windows Vista (64-bit) host and trying to install Windows 7 & Windows 8 (both 32-bit) from ISO files I ripped onto the host.

During the installer for both OSs I get a message asking me to provide media drivers because the system cannot find them automatically. How am I supposed to install the Virtualbox drivers before I've even installed the operating system?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

If you are being asked to provide drivers then the install media is more than likely corrupt. Does the check sum match what it is supposed to be? Is this actual install media, or some hack download?

Actual install media in all cases.
I've used both of these install discs on physical machines before.
Also, I was able to install Windows Server 2008 (32-bit) without issue by following the same procedure.

What is the exact message, i.e. what media drivers is it looking for? Can you also post the configuration of your VM (the .vbox file)?
