running on linux 3.13.0-24-generic virtual box that has a version 4.3.12

when I'm running the command.
sudo brctl addbr br0 it says that directory is not found
but I can already see the commands possible for brctl if i run the command brctl..
and even when i run the command whereis brctl I'm able to see the source of it.

Do you have any ideas on what I can do ?

That has nothing to do with VirtualBox. Try to find out which package of your Linux distribution is missing/needed and install it.

I'm guessing the package which it is looking for is the brctl.. which is already installed because I'm already able to see the commands so I'm puzzled why addbr seems to not function well.
