[solved] Install failed 4.3.18, "access denied"

I tried to install VirtualBox-4.3.18-96516-Win on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit (Japanese Edition).
Installation failed because of "access denied" error, which was displayed in Japanese.
I checked windows event viewer about this failure, but I couldn't find any useful information.

Before the installation failure, I could install VB 4.3.12 successfully. It worked fine.
I uninstalled it successfully to install version 4.3.18.

I have already tried,

• reinstall 4.3.12,
• do it as an administrator, and
• "disable driver signature verification" before installation.

However, all trials failed because of the same error.

Any suggestions are welcome, especially how I can get useful information about the failure (e.g. error log).

I add the image of installer window, when it reported the error "Access Denied" on another window.
It would hopefully help you know the error situation.

That screenshot is really not very useful. The MSI installer log would be better.

Thank you for your comment.

I added MSI Installer's log records as attachment file 20141013a.zip
that includes five files.
Each file includes an event log record from MSI installer.
A file that has smaller suffix has older record.

MSI_log02.txt has a Japanese message string, so I added English translation
as a comment line beginning //.

That looks like an event record of some kind, I'm not sure - but it isn't an MSI log for the VirtualBox installation attempt.

Have a look in this thread for an example of what the MSI log should look like.

I add an MSI Installer log file as an attachment MSI21e6a.zip
that includes error messages in Japanese, so I translated them as I've done before.

I see the following in the MSI log. I don't know if this is really the problem.

This seems to be quite similar to the problem discussed in the other topic I previously linked.

Sorry for late response.

I finally succeeded to install VB 4.3.18 as followings.

• uninstall KB2918614
• install VirtualBox-4.3.18-96516-Win -> succeeded!

After installation, I tried using a guest OS (PC-BSD 10.0.3) and it worked fine.
