I am running VirtualBox-4.3.16-95972-Win on Windows 8.1 Host.
I am running android-x86-4.4-r1.iso which starts up with a black background, and VM starts with mouse capture enabled.
But the only cursor available is black, which means that it cannot be seen against the black background when you are asked set-up questions on setting up Android system.
How can the VM cursor be set to appear white instead of black, so it can be seen?
I notice there are three bugs in mouse cursor image (bugs #2603,#2660 and #4817), but no one has noticed this one?
The Mouse cursor does work when set-up has been completed and the background has changed to Green!

Re: Black Mouse on Black Background
Android is not a supported guest OS, there are no Guest Additions for it, no special graphics or mouse drivers. This means that VirtualBox cannot control the color used by any display element in an Android guest, including the mouse cursor.
That said, I have installed Android myself in the past and did not have that problem. I assume you were following a tutorial from some website, so I suggest that you ask there about your symptoms.
