Hey guys, im sure there is a forum for this but since im new to the forums i really dot know where this goes. I keep getting this error message even though i have virtualization enabled on my machine. I actually have tried it on multiple machines, One is my HP Envy Laptop with Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 740 @ 1.73GHz processor and 8GBs of RAM. I went into the BIOS and enabled virtualization and went into Programs And Features found within the control panel to enable it on Windows and it still is giving me the error message. My other machine is a fairly newer machine, it is an HP Envy Desktop with an AMD A8-6500 Quad on it, also with 8GBs of RAM. Im not sure what im doing wrong. would someone be able to direct me in the right direction. If it matters, I am trying to run Windows 10 TP within the virtual machine. If you need more infor on the machines i have it installed on please feel free to ask.

If as you say hardware virtualization is enabled in your hosts bios then something must be using it. Usually Hyper-V which takes totall control of it and some virus software programs

hmmmm Is there any way for me to find out? Also, thanks for replying to me. Im 98% sure i do not have a virus, I am in school for security, not to mention i have a fresh copy of Norton 360 and Malwarebytes. I also enabled Hyper-V prior to me writing my post. But i also get that same error message when I try to run it on my new computer thats only about 4 months old. Which also has Norton 360 and Malwarebytes on it. The acceleration tab is greyed out in the Virtualbox settings as well. I have looked through countless forums which all tell me to enable it, but nothing about it being enabled and still returning that error message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did not say to enable Hyper-V I said it would cause this issue if it were. Remove it by all means.

Other than that you need to check your hosts bios. This is done by pressing a key or series of keys at boot. If you do not know how you need to find out from the support forum or web site of your make and model.

If it is enabled and Hyper-V is removed and you still have this issue then un-install the Virus programs and see if it allows you to see hardware virtualization in VirtualBox. If so then you need to see what has to be done to allow the virus programs to operate fairly, and or update VirtualBox to a newer test build, depending on what the cause really is.
