Scroll Event Rate for Apple Input Devices - Debian Guest

Post by scroll »

Hello Forum Members,

I use Debian Wheezy with Openbox WM as a guest OS on various Macbooks.

Scrolling with the Magic Mouse or the trackpads is choppy.
Xev shows that the guest OS receives scroll input events from these devices
only every centimeter of finger movement. Accordingly, the guest programs
jump scroll a larger distance of approximately one text line per scroll event.

When I disable mouse integration, the scroll events get fired with less finger
movement per event, but the line distance scrolled remains the same.
I tried imwheel on the Debian guest for that, but while it perfectly recognizes
my configuration to reduce scroll jump size, it does not change anything.

Disabling mouse integration is not an option in my use case,
seamless mode is integral to the solution the VirtualBox system provides.

How can I get a more fine-grained scroll movement tracking?
