Hello,

According to documentation of VirtualBox 4.2.8, a bug was fixed regarding a crash caused by Battlefield 1942.

I don't know if both issues are related but I have a similar crash problem under VB 4.3.16 when I launch BF1942 (not just the game... VB is also crashing)

My Host is Windows 7 x64 and the guest is Windows XP x86. (I know I could install BF directly on Windows 7 but I'm preparing a virtual machine for a LAN Party with all the games / add-on / mods / updates installed)

The extensions has been installed on both server and client and the 2D/3D is enable. Most games work perfectly except for battlefield 1942.

You'll need to provide more details. Start with posting the VBox.log for the VM when it crashes and any other useful information like crash dumps from the VM process that supposedly crashed. Thanks.

Also, please try with the latest VirtualBox version (4.3.18 in this case)
