virtualbox on intel e4500?

Post by mcgls »

Can't get Windows 10 working in virtualbox. No matter what I do, I get the hang on boot with a 0x000005d error and parameters. Is my pc just too old for it? I run 8.1 32-bit and have downloaded the 32-bit version of Win 10 and run virtualbox on Windows 8.1, and all other settings looking correct. pae/NX acceleration enabled. I/P APIC.enabled. Storage attritubes type PIIx4, use host I/O cache checked.

No VT-x.

So yes, your CPU is to old to run Win8.x or Win10 as VirtualBox VMs. Both of these require VT-x, even to run the 32bit versions.
