I have been using Virtualbox for last 3 years without any problem on my Lenovo laptop and on a I7 pc (x58 chipset)
I have upgraded desktop PC to a newer MB and now Virtualbox willnot attach any USB2 device.
Essentially I need the virtualmachine to boot from a LINUX ISO whihc will install a linux small distribution I use to create a NAS server, done this about 10 times with the other 2 PCs, but not worling on this one.
does anyone know of any know issue with newer chipsets (Z97), native support for USB3 may create problem to the Virtualboc USB2.0 driver?.
I have tried verion 4.3.16 and 4.2.26, have installed the extention pack, have selected the USB driver in the settings, I see it disconncted from Windows7 host ( it shows up again when I switch the VM off), but no USB driver is accessible.
My laptop is running ver. 4.2.18, worth to try that one?
Attached a screen shot:, the uSB device is captured, but no green check, and then later linux will not detecty any HD
Any suggestion to make it work is is wellcome.
Thanks

Re: Virtualbox can not attach USB driver
Attach a (zipped) VM log file.
Does the new PC have USB3 ports?
