Mouse Movement Freezing Screen

Post by redlettuce »

I just got virtualbox a few hours ago, it looks like a great program. But once I installed it I realized any time I move the mouse the screen freezes until I stop moving the mouse. The pointer does move to the correct distance, but I just can't see the movement. I'm on windows 7 ult. host and virtualbox. I really havn't done much to it other than downloading firefox, which took a while to do. I'm not even sure if im posting this is the correct place, but hopefully I can get some help. Thanks in advance!

In order to better understand the problem you need to submit some more information. Please read the following: Minimum information needed for assistance.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

virtualbox version is 4.3.16, 64bit (not sure if this is the guest version. I could not find that information. I used the default download, and default setup options.
computer: ram:8(8cores), Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, 25gb+ allocated memory
virtualbox:ram:2(2cores), Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, 10gb+ allocated memory

Thanks again, let me know if I missed anything! :D

Code: Select all

0:00:04.264774 Host RAM: 8090MB total, 5761MB available

00:00:04.993308 Logical host processors: 8 present, 8 max, 8 online, online mask: 00000000000000ff
00:00:04.993677 Physical host cores: 4
Just to set the record straight you have a total of 8GB memory and 4 cores.

Your jerky mouse is probably due to the fact that you have not installed the guest additions ( in the guest ) yet.
