I've got 4.3.18 r96516 working with W10 TP. Guest Additions appear to have been installed. Host is Win 8.1.
I had 4.3.16 before that it was installed on and just updated to 4.3.18 so I could install Guest Additions, could not do that with 4.3.16 like so many others.
I had NO problems with the Win8.1 guest connecting to my network or using a SHARED FOLDER.
Since I couldn't install Guest Additions under 4.3.16 I could not get those to work but I had hoped 4.3.18 would solve that.
Still no network sharing is possible? I do connect to the internet and can use browsers and programs that access it, but I can NOT see any other resources on my network? Even the Router shared USB External drive? Not sure why but the W8.1 VM (which I did delete as it was no longer needed) could?
Shared Folder also can't be seen but it seems that Guest Additions is working and 'says' it is there? I just can't see it?
Images:
See the GA showing the SHARE...
Doesn't show in MY PC?
I know these worked before for the Win8.1 guest?
Suggestions? Did I miss a step?
My NETWORK is a mixture of devices and NO HOMEGROUP is used. I did try BRIDGING the computer NIC and the VM HOST-ONLY ADAPTER and that didn't help? Also when my PC came back from sleep the Network connection was lost, so I unbridged the two.

Re: Windows 10 Technical Preview
Shared Folders with Windows 10 are working for me. I'm using Automount, OSX host.
OSX, Linux and Windows Hosts & Guests

@irvsp,
"I did try BRIDGING the computer NIC and the VM HOST-ONLY ADAPTER"
That is not the right approach. If you want LAN access in the guest you use the Bridged mode in the guest settings, not bridging to Host-only.

Still no SHARED FOLDERS though? However with the network working I can access it that way. Suspect trying to do the sharing of the folder is impairing the SHUTDOWN, since I installed the GA it has been excruciating long. I'll probably disable that sharing.

Loaded the recent new Pre-Release. Still not working for Shared folders? Networking can see all of the HOST Win8.1 system drives including the share? Suggestions?irvsp wrote: Still no SHARED FOLDERS though? However with the network working I can access it that way.
