Cannot start session

Hello

vBOX seem to have some giggling issues for no apparent reason. I tried to install Windows 10 on VBOX but i cant even start my machine to begin with.

First of all i cannot set cpu count at all in options, the option is greyed out. I had a bit older version some time ago and it worked well before (6 months ago?).
Secondly when i start the machine i get (VERR_VMX_MSR_VMXON_DISABLED) VT-x is disabled in bios Error.

Code: Select all

Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
Console
Interface:
IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}
. . . problem is VT is enabled in bios. . . and it was that way. I never ever had a reason to disable VT. Running VBOX with administrator rights doesnt solve anything.
Whole "acceleration" tab is greyed out and unclickable

Rig: i7 2600k , P67 Sabertooth@latest bios, 16GB of ram Windows 8.1 X64 pro

1) 64-bit guests need hardware-virtualzation enabled in the hosts bios.
2) when creating the 64-bit guest you must select 64-bit in General -> Basic -> version.
3) If running Windows as host you must make sure hyper-v or xp mode is not enabled on the host. MS does not play well and wants it all.

Well, regardless what thing i choose result is the same, machine doesnt even boot up.
The only thing with "XP" in my bios is "limit CPUID maximum" which is now disabled. It doesnt sound like anything VT-preventing for me though. .. might be wrong.
There is no such thing like hyper-v in my bios.

YEs u can download the dev preview of win 10 iso from insider.windows[dot]com once u log in and click the join insider thing.
