After Shutdown Nothing Saved

Post by Ginger Sourcerer »

Hello All,

I am new here and to VM's. I have installed 64 bit MINT Cinnamon in VBox on my Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9.5 (MBPR i7 2012)and it runs fine .The problem that i have is that
if i shutdown the machine or send the signal when i start it up again it is back to a virgin state. If i save the state of the machine all is well when i restart again.
I am not sure if i am missing something very simple or if this is how things are supposed to be but i dont think that should be the case.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you haven't actually installed Mint yet - you're just running the live CD mode. Look carefully at the startup screens, and when it asks you if you want to install Mint on your PC hard disk, say yes. The "PC" is the VM.
