Virtual machine doesn't boot properly - Issue persist

Post by ondrejl »

Hi,

thanks for a quick response. I had to create another thread since I am no longer able to edit the original post and can't send PM either (bellow is the text I am referring to). I tried the current build, it's still reproducible. Logs are attached.

Reverting to 4.3.12.x didn't help. Let me know if you need some more info.

Original post:

Subject: Virtual machine doesn't boot properly [Linux Mint 17/Qiana]

Q: I am using Virtual Box 4.3.14 (r. 95030) and I am not able to boot into Linux 17 (Mint)/Cinnamon/32bit on Win 8 (32bit). It's the first run the linux system wasn't installed on HDD yet (just attached ISO img in order to boot and instal this system). The system just hangs right after counting down the boot sequence.

A: Revert to 4.3.12, or if you want to help debug the hardening issue then try the 4.3.17 test build

Update:

I've finally figured it out. The solution was to Enable PAE/NX in VM Settings -> System -> Processor :D
