VirtualBox: No Internet Connection with Bridged Networking

Post by Carnictis »

Hello,

I'm using VirtualBox on a Windows Hosts and as a guest system i'm running linux ubuntu in it. For the network configuration, i set bridged with the appropriate wlan/lan adapter - depending on, to which type of network i want to connect to -. The actual problem i've now is that in the guest system I'm getting an IP by the DHCP server from the outer network I'm bridging to. But when I try to ping from the terminal of the guest as normal user or as root - doesn't change anything concerning connectivity - then nothing happens as long as I cancel the operation, which results in a total loss of all sent packages. The same is for a normal webbrowser like firefox, chrome, etc. If I try to connect to any webpage nothing responds, the browser just tries to load and like it seems for eternity without any results.

If you've any suggestions or even an appropriate solution for that problem, I'd be really glad to hear about them :D

thanks in advance
