4.3.16 crashes continuously (clipboard, new session)

I am running 4.3.16 (just installed) after upgrading from 4.3.15. My host is Windows 7 Pro x64 with 8 Gb RAM (core i7). I run AVG anti-virus and have removed vprot.exe.

I continuously get random crashed of the sharedClipboardClass and Application error cannot start new session.
All my Linux machines fail as well (I cannot shutdown the machines - I have to kill the session - so they all are aborted (CentOS 7 & 6, Oracle Linux 7 & 6, Fedora 20, openSUSE - all fail) My Ubuntu LTS 14.04 Desktop and server seem OK.

Click on OK to terminate the program

I hope there is a fix for this?

I thought after all the issues with 4.3.14 - this release would be rock steady - I am disappointed!

After doing considerable reading and reviewing of the changes and other issues, I reasoned out a solution.

Since all this has happened since "improving" security - I tried running VirtualBox as the administrator rather than a user - and all the issues seem to have been resolved.

I know this is not a real "fix" but maybe it will help those who can fix this.

It is interesting to note that I installed this as a user - not the administrator.

This is happening to me to, when trying to install linux. I can confirm that running VirtualBox as administrator seems to fix the problem.

Hi VirtualBox 64 bit (running in Windows 7) random crash. My LMDE VM was booting up to KDE for the first time. AFAIR I didn't do anything with that. After the crash the VM still operated, but when I OK-ed this window, it closed the VM window and it went to aborted. Looks like some non-critical thread crashed?
After that I could boot the VM normally.
