Suddenly a very small screen that looks funny

Post by Nicktc »

Hi All,

I am using VirtualBox on my Macbook Pro. Everything was working, till yesterday. When I start my Windows virtual server the boot screen looks normal, but when the login screen load the entire resolution gets tiny and looks just funny (see attachments). When I boot the server in safe mode there is no problem. But in normal mode it always shows this small screen. I am unable to login. I updated VirtualBox, tried to reinstall the guestools but without luck. How to solve this problem?

Thanks.

Nick

I just ran into this same problem. The steps described in the 'thin screen' link provided above worked for me. Essentially it amounts to uninstalling the guest additions, rebooting the guest to finalize the uninstall, reinstalling guest services and rebooting again to finalize the new install. Seems to be working for me.
