VirtualBox 4.3.16 problems on 10.9.5

I have been running VB 4.3.16 on OS X 10.9.4 without problems starting my Win7 virtual machine.

I updated to OS X 10.9.5 this afternoon and now when I try to start the Win7 I get this error each time and have to quit a VirtualBox process that is bouncing in the dock. I checked and there is no log file from this failure.

I hope a quick fix is possible otherwise I'll have to roll back to 10.9.4. Using VMware Fusion 7 for a Win8 VM runs fine under 10.9.5.

I am on a iMac late 2012.

Since posting this problem I used VB to export the Win7 virtual machine as a .ova file and then imported it into VMware Fusion 7.

The virtual Win7 that the process produces works fine on 10.9.5 using Fusion 7. It is slower to start up using Fusion but everything seems to work so I can continue on 10.9.5 until a solution for VB 4.3.16 is available.

I want to stay on 10.9.5 vs. restoring my clone of the system with 10.9.4 .

I tried VB 4.3.16 again with my Win7 VM and this time noticed that there was an error message I had missed before. "Kernel driver not installed".

That made me think to uninstall 4.3.16 and then reinstall. That fixed the problem and my Win7 VM boots and runs fine on 10.9.5 .

False alarm. :D

I had no issues with guests and VB 4.3.16 after updating to OSX 10.9.5. Must have been something with your particular install.
