Re: error VT-x is disabled in BIOS
Although the message displays when you are using VirtualBox, that really is nor a VirtualBox question. BIOS settings are a basic part of your physical computer and how you change them depends on what make and model the machine is, and we have no idea what that is.

Re: error VT-x is disabled in BIOS
What you're going to need to do is open the BIOS on your PC, and find and activate the VT-X setting. You'll need to do some googling to find the right setting, if it's there at all, because as Bill said each manufacturer of motherboards likes to do things differently, and only your PC manufacturer can tell you what the setting is called (it may not be called "VT-X"), if it's been programmed in (some motherboards don't have it) and where to find it. Also, your processor may or may not use that setting even if the motherboard can turn it on, so check your processor's capabilities, too.
Meanwhile, you can get 32-bit Ubuntu, which can be run without VT-X (I think). It only costs a download to find out.

I had the same problem and could fix it after some looking through the BIOS screens
