vbox Win8.1 guest networking not working on MAC

Hi,
I have tried NAT and Bridged in the Vbox setup, still doesn't work. I can ping google and other sites, but when I open a web browser it says it cannot connect to the proxy server. I have changed the MTU settings in the registry all the way down to 1400, and still not working.

Vbox 4.3.16 r95972
Win 8.1 (Guest VM) on VBox
Macbook Pro OSX 10.9.4

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Changing the MTU will not change the web browser. Look in the browser settings and make sure that you have not set it to use a proxy if you don't actually need one or configure it properly if you do.

pffft. Why I didn't think to check the obvious. Not sure why Chrome installed with Proxy enabled. Fixed. Thank you!
