Windows 95 Games Lag on Guest

Post by Rin Chan »

Hello,

I am running a Windows 95 VM, and certain graphically intensive games' sound and video lag while playing. Is there a way to resolve this? Other games play fine.

Here's some more information:

I'm using VirtualBox version 4.3.12, since that is the only version that will run Windows 95 without errors.
The host is a 64bit Windows 8 computer (4GB memory), the guest is a 32bit Windows 95 computer (64MB memory). I've installed the Sci Tech Display Doctor too.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance; these forums have been SUPER heplful~!

The only way to fix it would be to run the game at a lower resolution or frame rate. Win95 is not a supported guest, so it only has the most basic VESA graphics capability.

I see. How can I do this? The options in the game only allow me to adjust sound and music. And I can't seem to adjust frame rate or resolution outside of the game either.

The game itself either provides an option or it doesn't, sorry.
