I tried NAT and bridge without sucess.
i used settings option everywhere to chose and create shared folders without sucess.
i tried to drag the file between windows and nothing.

i have a folder named share-rede (but can be any other) in my mac what i want to use to acess files between my mac and my brand new windows xp instalation in a guest virtual box.

it can`t be so difficult because i did it in the past using linux( centuries ago).

any one can help? maybe im forgetting something.

thanks in advance.

Configure what you want in the "Shared Folders" section of the VM settings, and install the Guest Additions in the guest.

If you want to continue this discussion then provide a VM log file: Minimum information needed for assistance.

Btw, drag and drop has nothing to do with shared folders, and in any case is not supported with Windows guests.

thank you !

guest additions works perfectly.

now i can see my host folder in my guest.

i only want to add as info for future users with same problem:

"guest additions" can be found on menu "devices" as name "insert guest additions CD image ( host+ D) "

its a little bit different from linux when running on mac. :D

It shouldn't really be necessary to provide the latter information, since you can already find it in the user manual - in which there's a whole chapter devoted to what the GAs do, and how to install them in various guests.
