Windows Guest Screen tiny and not operable

Post by tde »

Hello,

I have been using virtualbox on Mac as a Host system for some days with Windows 7 Prof 64bit as a guest system. This morning I turned on my virtual machine to find a starting screen reduced to a size that I cannot even start Windows anymore (see uploaded attachment).
I don't know at all what to do and how to get my normal screen size back and I also would like to understand why this happened, I can't remember to have changed anything at all yesterday and I can't remember any update either.

When switching on this morning, my Virtualbox version was 4.3.14, also the version of my extension pack installed to optimize screen size to the host system. Then Virtualbox told me of an update to 4.3.16 which I did (including the extension pack) hoping to get this problem resolved by updating, but unfortunately to no avail.

Please help me!

Thank you very much

Thank you very much for the link. I didn't quite understand every step of the explanation, so I followed as much as I was able to, but at the moment it seems to be working again.

It is still not clear to me, why it happened and how to prevent it in the future (if somebody could give me an explanation, I would really appreciate it)

Thank you a lot for your help and have a nice evening.

1) You're welcome and 2) I'm glad it's working, but 3) you know what they say, sometimes ...things... happen. There's not a specific solution as far as I know, just a way to correct things.
