4.3.16 VM VirtualBox Won't Start

Hi Everyone

This is my first post. I am new to the security field and trying to get a lab up and running on my laptop. I was told VirtualBox was the way to go. A few weeks ago I installed 4.3.14 and was not able to get it to start. I got that weird error that I saw many other encountered. I was happy to see that 4.3.16 was released yesterday and started the download before I went to bed. I got home from work today ready to get the party started. I installed 4.3.16 and left the check box selected so that VirtualBox would start after installation was complete. VirtualBox did not start so I rebooted and tried again. No Dice. I then uninstalled VirtualBox, disabled Comodo FW, and BitDefender. Re-installed but still could not get it to start. I am at a loss. I searched this forum and the web and could not find an answer. I am not sure how or where I could have gone wrong. But when in doubt and you can't find an answer I find it's good to ask the experts. I am running Win7 Home Premium x64. I downloaded this file: VirtualBox-4.3.16-95972-Win

I went through the Windows Logs and found an Application Error 1000 with the following info:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to consider falling back to 4.3.12 just to get up and running.

Also, right-click the installer and use "Run as Administrator", and make sure you don't have your OS set to automatically disregard unsigned drivers (set it to ask you if you want to install them.)

scottgus1 thank you also. I use the "Run as Administrator" to install. I have not checked the setting for unsigned drivers. I will do that when I get home.
