time sync to fedora guest

Post by bf31415 »

I'm trying to get my fedora guests to time sync with my mac os host after the VMs sleep / i suspended my mac. on my mac I've run the following for this VM:

VBoxManage guestproperty set vm-42 "/VirtualBox/GuestAdd/VBoxService/--timesync-interval" 5000
VBoxManage guestproperty set vm-42 "/VirtualBox/GuestAdd/VBoxService/--timesync-set-on-restore" "1"
VBoxManage guestproperty set vm-42 "/VirtualBox/GuestAdd/VBoxService/--timesync-set-on-start" "1"
VBoxManage guestproperty set vm-42 "/VirtualBox/GuestAdd/VBoxService/--timesync-set-threshold" 1000

Yet post a sleep, the VM's clock remain's out of sync with my mac os host.

Should the above work to keep the clocks sync'd? Am I missing something?

Thanks

I have the "/VirtualBox/GuestAdd/VBoxService/--timesync-set-threshold" 1000 which works, but not the other lines you have added. Perhaps they are causing the issue.
Of course this means that you must have the guest additions installed on the guest and I would make sure that you are using the official build of the GAs and not the repo version.

Note I would also correct the subject since the fedora you are referring to is actually a guest.

Did you install the Guest Additions in the fedora guest?

I'm not seeing the "--timesync-set-on-start" parameter in the User Manual.
