Failed to install net create session

Hello,
I'm trying to install Virtualbox 3.3.14, but I get this error when I try to run the program:

failed to install net create session

Can anyone help? I'm using Windows 7 and Avast Antivirus.

I suspect you actually meant 4.3.14 (since version 3 only went up to 3.2 )

Take a look here:

especially the first post in red.

Roll back to 4.3.12 or earlier to get Virtualbox working again, or use 4.3.15 to help troubleshoot the glitch.

Wow... That could be a contender for worst post ever!

1. Posted in the wrong section (I'm moving it to "Windows Hosts").
2. Wrong (non-existant) VBox version number given.
3. No explicit mention of host OS (mention of Win7 could mean the guest, profile says "Ubuntu other").
4. An error message is quoted, but I suspect the wording given is completely wrong and should be "Failed to install NTCreateSection monitor".
5. The topic title is equally wrong and "net" will attract the wrong helpers.
6. No logs.

And all that in just a few lines.

Fun aside, I still recognize the problem. You need to downgrade to 4.3.12 and await a future VBox release. Please, and mostly for your own sake, in future try to be more precise when reporting problems! I only stood a chance this time because the question is a FAQ.
