linux guest abort on host networking device change

On MacBook Air (2013 or 6.1 model, OS X 10.9.4) VirtualBox often aborts a VM running Fedora when I switch on Mac the networking device from WiFI to a bluetooth dialup or Etherner connected over Thunderbolt adapter. Is it a known problem? I use the latest VirtualBox 4.3.14.
