Bridge Connection Woes
Posted: 6. Sep 2014, 03:10
Hello,
I am on a new 2014 macbook pro and want to run a windows 7 guest machine. It works flawlessly @ home but @ work I am having issues.
Setup:
Virtual Box 4.3.14
Host Machine: Mac OSX 10.9.4
Guest Machine: Windows 7 Pro
Net Connection type 1: Bridged WiFi (EN0 Wifi air-port)
Net Connection type 2: Bridged USB Ethernet (en5 USB ethernet)
At home I can connect using my WiFi card in bridge mode and the DNS and internet both work great.
@ work if I connect with the WiFi I get a 169 address. Calling the I.T. team they said there's nothing blocking it on their end and it should work fine.
I went out to a local computer store and bought a USB network adapter (hardwire) just incase and I am able to bridge that connection however the DNS does not work.
Example: I can ping the IP of the guest machine (win 7) on my host machine (osx) but not the computer name.
Goal: I have to work using SQL server 2012 (for web development) and since it cannot run on a MAC I want to have it run on the windows 7 guest machine and be able to access my web convent via the networked (example: Guest-Machine-Name/test.html).
Can anyone help me please?
