PXE Boot Issue

Post by boltk »

Good day, I've been using virtual machines in VB to create images to be captured for future OS deployments. It has worked flawlessly for me in the past but recently I have been unable to do so.

Version of VirtualBox installed : 4.3.14 r95030
Type and version of the Host Operating System : Windows 8.1 Update 1 X64
Type and version of the Guest OS : Windows 7 SP1 X64

I have attached the error message I receive when I try to PXE boot in order to capture an image. Please note I have installed the extension that enables PXE boot and I still face this issue.

The log says differently: it says that both guest and host is Windows 8.1 (64 bit), and that is the OS version selected in the VM settings. I do note that the caption bar says Win7, contradicting the log.

I think you need to sort out what the actual Windows version is, and choose the correct OS version template in the VM settings. Also, I would downgrade to 4.3.12, as 4.3.14 has problems on Windows hosts.
