Windows 8 guest reboots when connecting USB device (iPhone)

Hello,

scenario:
Host: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS amd64
Guest: Windows 8 x64

i have installed virtualbox to use iTunes on Ubuntu
I have added my user to the group vboxusers, then rebooted

the problem is this: when I connect the iPhone to my pc and select it from the "Devices" menu in virtualbox, guest machine suddenly reboots.

I guess my guest additions on the guest are not updated... is that possible? how can i update them?

What version of VirtualBox?
Also post the guests log file ( as an attachment )

SOLVED!

I'm using VirtualBox 4.3.14 r95030

When I opened virtualbox this morning to see the exact version, it asked me to update "Extensions". I proceeded with the update and now my guest Win8 recognises the iPhone and i can finally sync it with Ubuntu.
