Error starting VirtualBox after Win7 reinstall

I recently had to trash my hard drive and reinstall Win 7 (32 bit), VirtualBox 4.3.14r95030, and the corresponding extension pack.

When I start VirtualBox, I get an error popup regarding a Google DLL file:

C:\PROGRA~1\Google\GOOGLE~1\GO36F4~1.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.

Note:

C:\PROGRA~1\Google\GOOGLE~1 expands to
C:\Program Files\Google\Google Desktop Search\GoogleDesktopNetwork3.dll.

If I click on OK, VirtualBox loads OK, but when I try to start one of my VirtualBox Machines, I get this fatal popup error:
