Internet Access
Internet Access
I am very new to using a VM. This is my first time. I have it installed and running but I can not get internet access in the VM. I have changed network adapters in VM and reset but nothing seems to work. Any tips?

Re: Internet Access
Changed network adapters from what to what? If you created a vm to match the OS you have installed it will automatically use the best network adapter for your OS and the drivers will also be installed automatically.
If you need assistance you need to tell us exactly what settings you are using and exactly what it is doing. "Does not work" is not very helpful.
As for tips, I would suggest that you start again, don't change anything then post with a bit of detail if you have problems.

Re: Internet Access
Hi I am running a Linux VM on a Windows host machine. I would like to get internet access in the guest via NAT. But because of reasons which I havent been able to figure out till now, I am unable to get internet access in the VM via NAT.
Note: I tried bridging one of the VirtualBox adapters to the host machine's internet port and I was successfully able to get internet access in the VM but I want internet via NAT only.
These are the settings I am using:
These are the LAN settings on my Windows host machine:
I am setting a static mac address for my NAT adaptor and using udev rules, I am giving a static interface name("inteth") in the guest machine. These are my internet settings in my guest machine which is Linux:
What could be the possible solution to this problem ?Please let me know if you need additional info on my VM or host settings. I'll be glad to provide them.
Thanks in advance
