Hello

I want to install Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit on osX 10.9.2, 64 bit. I have Virtualbox 4.1.18, guestadditions installed.

But i get a 0x000000C4 error. After searching on the internet, i found i had to change VboxManage setextradata. The name of the server is S2008..
I located VBoxManage and did this:

VBoxManage setextradata S2008 VBoxIternal/CPUM/CMPXCHG16B 1

But i keep getting the same error. Can someon help me solving this?

EDIT: Post updated with more information & log.

That's a really old version, and quite a few bugs related to your setup have been fixed since (search for "0x000000C4 site:forums.virtualbox.org"). Try to upgrade to the latest and greatest 4.3.14.

Hello,

I'm running into the same issue, and have tried the fix listed above, with no success... as I'm a new user I can't create my own post and reference this one, maybe I'll try that again tomorrow.

Any help is much appreciated...

Host OS: Ubuntu LTS 14.04 x64
VBox 4.3.16 r95972 - with addons
Guest OS: Windows 2008 Server R2 (client addons not applicable yet, as error happens before setup starts)
VBox.log.3.zip
(38.93 KiB) Downloaded 8 times
Cheers,

Scott

Can a moderator please move this thread to Windows Guests? What started as a post in the wrong forum seems to continue.

You have the following in your log:
00:00:34.623046 !! Guru Meditation 1155 (VINF_EM_TRIPLE_FAULT)
For Guru Meditation errors, you should head to the bugtracker and either search for an appropriate bug where you'll attach your logs and other vital information, or open a new bug report.

Thanks Socratis,

It turns out the .iso I was using was corrupt, created a new one, and now it works perfectly.

thanks!
