I use Windows XP (OS) and I would try Windows Vista with VirtualBox 4.3.12.0 but VirtualBox stops the installation.

I am using (OS) Windows XP Pro, X86, Service pack 3. Computer 2Gb mem., Intel celeron 2 Core CPU.

VirtualBox 4.3.12 r93733.

Hoping to try Windows VISTA (guest) with mem. 680 Mb (VirtualBox suggest 512 Mb). The installation stops after a while.

You don't have enough free memory on your host to allocate 680MB for RAM + 16MB of VRAM = 696 MB at least available on the host, plus some overhead... You need to close some applications in your host, or buy some more RAM.
