Stuck installing Ubuntu in VM?

Post by MikeMoss »

Hi

I've been messing around with this all day.
When I try and install Ubuntu in VM it sticks every time at this screen...

Well I was going to insert an image here but it won't let me.

It's the screen where it says "Preparing to Install Ubuntu" and has a Quit, Back and Continue button on the bottom.

The continue button never becomes active.

I've tried a number of times using different versions of Ubuntu, both 32 and 64 bit.

Anyone have any idea how to get it past this point.
I can start and run Ubuntu from this same installation disk with no problems.

Mike

The log doesn't show any glaring issues. Try enabling 3D acceleration in the video section of the guest settings and bump up the vram to 32MB.

Increasing VDI disk size helps (default 8Gb was not enough for kubuntu 16.04)
