I am trying to install Windows 8.1 Pro on a new drive on a PC running Win 7 Pro with 8 gb ram and a Core I7 processor. I am getting error code 0x000000C4. I have attached the log and image files.

What is wrong?

Set the guest OS version to Win8.1 (64 bit), not Win8.

Then, your next problem will be this :-

You can't give a VM 4GB RAM if you only have 1986MB available - and the host will need some of that too. Something on the host is hogging a humungous amount of RAM - I'd find out what that is and ditch it.
